- : The I-Card from Interworks is a PC PCMCIA card. It's one that matches the
- : needs of the A-1200. It includes a SANA-II driver for use with I-Net 225,
- : ENLAN DFS, etc. The phone number is 909-699-8120.

- Yeah.. I also have one of those and my ... does it make my amy very unstable :(
- To be able to use the icard.device at all I have to turn off all CPU cache,
- and very often also the burst modes..
- (I have the 1230IIIBlizzCard50MHz030+882,16MBFastRAM)
- Half of the time the driver just jumps offline, without telling AmiTCP,
- so I get no ping replies etc.. sometimes it just frezes the hole machine
- and the mouse becomes .. jumpy in the movments, and kind of transperant.
- When I do a ctrl-amiga-amiga it often takes the 10secs before it reboots, an then the powerLED flashes angry
- and I have a red screen, then a yellow, and then my amy reboots with all
- kinds of gurus. In the cases where the driver just droppes ot offline,
- I can alternatively
-
- 1.) wiggle it in and out until I first get "driver is offline"
- in the AmiTCP-log window, and then wiggle it in out a bit more til I get ping-replyes .. then it might be ok some
- more minutes ..
-
- 2.) easiest, run the stopnet and startnet over again, but this annoying if
- I'm in the middle of a transfer :(
-
-
-
- I believe all the probs are related on two things..
-
- 1.) the icard.device is buggy, therefor the offlinejumps and the CPU stuff.
- Its also _very_ sencible to heavy nettrafic.. then it panics and
- send out all kinds of weird packages, according tcpdump from another
- machine. My version is icard.device 1.4, any newer out there ?
- I've tried to get info at Interworks, but with no luck so far..
-
- 2.) the A1200 PCMCIA isnt quite up to the PCMCIA-II standard as it claimes,
- cause when I insert the card, it mostly freezes the machine, even
- without software running at all, on plain bootscreen. When I
- withdraw it, the machine wakes up again. I use to play with this
- until suddenly it doesnt freeze, so I can boot up.
- One of the points with the pcmcia is that we're supposed to be able to
- insert and reject the card almost as we like, as I said this is not
- the case with the I-Card and my amy.. Since we're 3 guys owning
- each our card here, I've tested all three of them, all the same result.
- The other 2 amigas also have the problems I describe but not to the same
- amount as my poor daneel.
-
- Having said all this I also must say that when the card actually work,
- it really is a pleasure to work with, transfers at 150k/sec and more
- are far better than the 5 I had on my SLIP account.
-
- Any tip out there on what to do with my probs ??
